Rivers United player Denis Ndasi has said the hostile attitude of the Al Nasr fans motivated them in the game.
The Nigeria champions faced a lot of threats and antics from the fans and supporters of the Libyan club.
But the Pride of Rivers stood their ground to secure the required result and qualified for the group stage of the tournament.
” It’s a very important victory for us because our ambition this season is to get into the group stage and I thank God that we have done the job.
After crashing out of the champions league we spoke to ourselves and we agreed that the season will not go without us getting into the group stage of the Confederation Cup.
For us, we saw everything as motivation because the head has told us that we are coming for war and expected all that they ( Al Nasr) did and we took it as a challenge that we are not going to let our fans down”, he told the club media.
