Former Tottenham Hotspurs of England forward Hassan Mido has been announced as the new coach of the Egyptian Premier League club Ismail FC.
Mido will replace Juan Carlos Garrido, who was shown the door two weeks ago due to the team poor’s results in the domestic league.
After the Spaniard was sacked, the club appointed former team star Ayman El-Gamal as interim coach. He helped Ismaily claim their solitary league win after defeating Enppi 2-1 but they then slumped to a 1-0 loss to Masry on Sunday.
Ismaily lie 16th in the 18-team table with six points from nine games, on level with bottom side Harras El-Hodoud.
Mido will start his mission with Ismaily in a tough clash against his boyhood club Zamalek on Thursday.
