Ahead of the Ekiti state Football Association election, one of the interested contestants, Mr. Opeyemi Paul Fabunmi has picked up the nomination form to contest the chairmanship of the association.
Fabunmi, a seasoned football administrator while speaking in Ado Ekiti said the step was borne out of the passion he has for football development.
The lecturer in the department of accountancy at the federal polythecnic Ado Ekiti further explained that he was prepared for the ever demanding position as a vibrant youth and one who understands the prerequisites of handling the association.
The Efon Alaaye born Fabunmi boasts of active exposure in football as an amateur player as well as Schools teams coordinator and was also the youngest team manager in Ekiti with stints at the state owned Ekiti united football club, John Kayode Fayemi Football club, Agbana wonderful football academy and Ekiti Ysfon team among others.
Ope as he is fondly called, successfully organized Ekiti Secondary Schools Athletics Games in 2012 and 2016, respectively, where over three hundred students from more than 60 schools across the State participated without any financial support from any quarter.
Currently the Vice Chairman of the Efon Local Football Council has dependable careers as a Lecturer and an Accountant, maintained that he is ready to open doors for massive grassroot football talents discoveries and developments, establishment of modern football facilities and exposure through tournaments, training and seminars for football Stakeholders if given elected as the next FA chairman.
