Former midfielder with IICC Shooting Stars of Ibadan now christened, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) Philip Boamah, has died at 74. Boamah gave up the ghost in the early hours of Thursday at the University College Hospital, Ibadan according to a press release made available to Brace Radio from his family
One of his sons Boamah Olugbenga Kevin, who wrote the press release on behalf of the family confirmed the burial arrangements will be communicated to the public soon.

This is to inform the General Public, Nigerian Football Fraternity, and the Football World, with total submission to the will of God, we regret to announce the passing into glory of our Father and Grand Father, a football legend, a Nigerian ex-international, Philip K. Boamah who passed on, today 21st of December, 2023 at the University Teaching Hospital, Ibadan. He was aged 74yrs.
Burial arrangements will be communicated to the general public soon”.
The late Ghanaian-born player was part of the victorious IICC squad of 1976 that won the first continental title ever by any Nigeria clubside and also a member of the Green Eagles in 1970
He managed Leventis United, Ranchers Bees, Dolphins United, Kwara United and Kwara Stars, Gateway FC, and Shooting Stars twice before he retired.
