Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has promised Nigeria’s U23 football team a sum of 25,000 Dollars if they get a victory against their Tanzanian counterparts on Saturday.
A win for the Olympic Eagles will shoot them into the final round of the qualifiers against the winner of the fixture between Uganda and Guinea.
The governor while hosting the U-23 Eagles at the Government House, Agodi Ibadan on Friday night also gave the team Ten Million Naira immediately after the dinner hosted by him.
“I am coming to the stadium with the cash, so, it is not a go-and-come-back promise, Makinde told the players in his address. I will give you the money once you achieve victory.”

Promised the team, with the sum of $10,000, for a win against Tanzania.
Balele also pledged the sum of $20,000 for the team should they defeat Tanzania in Ibadan, It would also be recalled that earlier on Friday, Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, promised the Olympic Eagles the sum of N500,000 for every goal in Saturday’s battle at the Lekan Salami Stadium.
The Nigerian team will trade tackles with Tanzania in the second leg of the 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan on Saturday.
Both teams played out a 1-1 draw away in Tanzania in the first leg of the encounter last week.
Morocco will host the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations which will also serve as qualifiers for the 2024 Summer Olympics men’s football tournament in France.
