Barely a month to the start of the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface is already eyeing his debut in the competition.
The 22-year-old made his debut for Nigeria in the competition qualifier and he has been a regular player with the team.
Despite refusal from his club director, Boniface is expected to be among the players that will represent Nigeria in the competition.
“It is the dream of every football player from Nigeria to represent their country and win a trophy for the country,” Boniface told DW.
“So, we’re looking forward to the next AFCON”, he added.
The Nigerian International is one of the key players for the club and his absence will surely affect them.
