Following the injury he sustained in a league, Former Nigeria’s Flying Eagles and Genk attacker Yira Sor has been ruled out of the season.
The Nigerian International sustained the injury in the first half of the game against Standard Liege and had to undergo a scan to determine the extent of the injury.
The scan result indicates that Sor has sustained an injury and he won’t be able to return again this season.
“During the home match against Standard, Yira Sor remained in the dressing room at halftime with groin complaints. Initial investigations in the days after the match were inconclusive.
Together with the club doctor, Sor therefore went to London for a second opinion. That did bring clarity. The fast Nigerian suffered a tear in the groin.
While there was initially hope that we would be able to recover Yira during the playoffs, it has now become clear that his season is unfortunately over.
Yira will go under the knife today, after which the rehabilitation can start and we will prepare him for the start of next season.
The entire Genk family wishes Sor a speedy recovery.
Forza Yira”, the club confirmed
