The Desert Foxes of Algeria coach Djamel Belmadi has announced the list of 24 players that will take on Nigeria’s Super Eagles in an international friendly in Oran.
The Nigeria team earlier in the day released the list of 25 players which consist of skipper Ahmed Musa, Alex Iwobi and others.
Notable among the players listed by Belmadi are Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez, Yousef Attal and Andy Delort who are making a return to the national team.
CR Belouzidad of Algeria midfielder Mrezigue was handed his first call-up while the team first choice goalkeeper Bolhi was dropped from the team.
Before facing the Super Eagles, Algeria will first trade tackles with the Syli Stars of Guinea at the same venue on the 23rd of September.
Despite winning the African Cup of Nations in 2019, Algeria failed to make it beyond the group stage in the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon and since then the team has been undergoing a rebuilding process.
