Daniil Medvedev has downed number one seed Novak Djokovic in straight sets 6-4, 6-4 in the semi-final of the ongoing Dubai Tennis Championships.
Medvedev who finally ended the 2023 unbeaten run of the Serbian expressed his delight in defeating the 22-time grand slam winner and current Australian Open champion.
Going into the tie, Medvedev had lost four consecutive matches to Djokovic with his last win coming in the final of the 2021 US Open final where he won his first grand slam title.
Medvedev will now play against defending champion Andrey Rublev in the final later tomorrow.
