NBA franchises know how to put on a show during live games, with mascots playing a vital role in keeping those in attendance well-entertained.
They’ve even become a dream job, given how much some of them earn for being part of the world’s best basketball league.
Denver Nuggets mascot Rocky the Mountain Lion is the highest-paid mascot in the NBA with a $625K annual salary. Rocky makes ten times the average salary of an NBA mascot (roughly $60K a year). Rocky narrowly surpasses the other highest-paid NBA mascot, Harry the Eagle of the Atlanta Hawks, who earns $600,000.
He takes home a salary of $625,000 per year, surpassing what some basketball players earn in many parts of the world.
There is a newfound respect for the position.
Considering other NBA mascots average about 60,000 dollars annually, we could see more aggressive stunts from those around the league.
On the other hand, they don’t want to end up like Poe, the Baltimore Ravens mascot who has been ruled out for the season with an injury.
