Oliver Giroud’s header in the 62nd minute was enough for Ac Milan to see off a determined Torino side by 1-0 in Milan’s 3000th game in the Serie A.
It was Giroud’s 7th league goal of the season as he was at the end of a swift cross from left-back, Theo Hernandez. The French striker is the oldest player with the most goal contributions in the top 5 leagues in Europe.
This win put an end to Ac Milan’s 4-game losing streak which put the Rosonneri out of the title race. Stefano Pioli’s side is now up to 3rd on the league table having played more games than their top 4 rivals.
Ac Milan welcomed back star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovich who made the match-day squad for the first time this season. The lanky striker had been nursing a long-term knee injury since last season but didn’t feature in this game.
His return is a booster for the defending champions who are seeking to end the season on a high.
Ac Milan’s next game is at the San Siro in the UEFA Champions League against Tottenham.
