The U-23 national team held their first training at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan on Tuesday, ahead of their 2023 Africa U-23 Nations Cup qualifier against their Tanzanian counterparts.
Coach Salisu Yusuf took charge of the session with many invited players already in camp.
The Olympic Eagles will prepare for eight days before jetting out on October 18 for the first leg in Dar es Salaam, slated for the weekend of October 21-23, 2022.
A final squad for the game will be announced before the team depart for Tanzania.
Nigeria will host Tanzania for the second leg at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan on October 29.
The U-23 Africa Cup of Nations will be staged in Morocco in June 2023.
The competition serves as qualifiers for the men’s football event of the Olympic Games, with the top three teams progressing to Paris 2024.
