Mikel Arteta and his young guns are currently gunning for the league this season and with just 11 games to still be played, Arsenal finds themselves 5 points ahead of second-place Manchester city who were the favorite to win the league this season.
The Gunners ended their 2021/2022 season in disappointment after they failed to qualify for the UCL in the last few games after losing to local rivals Tottenham and Newcastle united. But this season has been an amazing rollercoaster for the club and the fans.
Arsenal fans started the season with the hope of just making Champions League football for next season even after they signed Gabriel Jesus and Alex Zinchenko from Manchester city and young defender William Saliba returned from his loan spell. but Arteta and the boys had other plans for the fans and the footballing world as they have been top of the league for most of it.
Arsenal finished 5th last season with a total of 69 points seeing them qualify for the Europa League. Arsenal now has 66 points with 11 games still to play. With the players performing at a high level. Arsenal is the only team in the league to have won 20 matches and also have 3 players reaching double digits of goals.
Now the real question comes in, if Arsenal fails to win the League will the season still be considered a failure??.
Well, winning the league will not be an easy thing to do, especially when the club in the race for the title is Manchester City which has vast experience and capable players in their squad like Erling Haaland, De bryune, and many more.
Chasing Manchester city is the hardest thing a club can do but this Arsenal side is not just chasing Manchester city but is topping the Citizens and it’s not by luck or magic. people will argue that the reigning champions may not be themselves this season or that the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, and Man United are having a bad season but that shouldn’t let us downplay how good this Arsenal side is.
If they fail to win the league this season it will be a disappointing season but Arsenal fans can be rest assured about the future and that this set of young players can achieve so much and this is just the beginning.
