Former Italian national team coach Arrigo Sacchi has made it clear that the absence of Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen from the lineup of Napoli has little to do with their defeat to AC Milan.
Napoli without Osimhen surprisingly lost 0-4 at home to Milan in a league game played on Sunday and some fans believed the absence of the Nigeria International played a key role in the game.
Sacchi said Milan was the better side and that Osimhen too would have struggled in the game.
“Everyone will say: yes, but Osimhen wasn’t playing. So, let’s immediately clear up that misunderstanding: in this context, it was a Napoli side that was not very gritty, very slow and very predictable, even Osimhen would have struggled. And this explains that one player cannot solve the situation”, DAZN.
