One of Africa’s representatives at the ongoing FIFA World Cup Morocco, was able to secure a point at the opening match of Group F against Croatia who were runners-up of the last World Cup in Russia.
Walid Regragui was appointed as coach of the Atlas Lions as recent as September but he has been able to drill his team into a disciplined unit within a very short time. His Moroccan team however lacked the cutting edge in the final third.
Luka Modrić was in heart of Croatian midfield and attack but he could only pull his strikes over the bar. The second half of the game also took the similar tone as the first and after 90 minutes of goalless football the referee blew the final whistle.
The second game in the group will see one of the tournament’s contenders Belgium lock horn with Canada later tonight at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium.
