It was a sweet revenge for Crown FC over Housing Corporation yesterday at the Lautech Sports Complex, Ogbomoso in the second semifinal of the Governor Seyi Makinde Football Volunteer tournament.
The Ajilete boys walloped Housing by four unreplied goals in a one sided affair to book a place in the final against Shooting Stars on Sunday at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamsingba.
Revenge and pride was at stake as Housing Corporation knocked out Crown from the Oyo State Aiteo/Federation Cup last year. Crown came into the game to take their pound of flesh and did so in a stunning fashion in front of their home fans.
Kayode Oke drew the first blood for Crown in the 16th minute with an easy finish inside the six yard box before Mojeed Adekunle doubled the lead seven minutes later.
The Ogbomoso based team who play in the second tier of the Nigerian Football League put the game to bed with a third goal just a minute before half time via a penalty by Adeji Tobi.
Housing were rattled and hopes of a comeback vanished into thin air at half time.
The second half started like the first for Crown and they added a fourth goal in the 58th through Jegede Anthony.
Housing, runner up in the Oyo State Aiteo/Federation cup tried as much to at least get a goal in the encounter but could hit the target hence losing in an embrassing manner.
Crown will slug it out with Shooting Stars on Sunday, October 23, 2022 in the grand finale at the Adamasingba stadium.
