The head coach of Nigeria’s Flying Eagles Ladan Bosso has said the absence of some key players affected the team’s performance in Egypt.
The hope of Nigeria winning its 8th in the U20 African Cup of Nations was dashed on Monday after suffering a 1-0 defeat to the Scorpions of Gambia.
The boss said some players missed the competition due to documentation and medication but took solace in securing the World Cup ticket.
“There are some many things that went against the team right from Niger to Nigeria some of those players about four to five players missed some documentation.
In Abuja after giving the final list of 25 at least two, or three players were affected and these are key players affected in the areas of documentation and medications.
I believe that adjustment and readjustments with the team like missing some key players and even getting to this level at least we should appreciate God”, he stated.
