The left-back position is somewhat neglected in the grand scheme of things, which is unfortunate. Today, we will dedicate a top five ranking of the Premier League’s best left-backs; they all deserve recognition.
Ben Chilwell, Tyrick Mitchell, and Rico Henry, among others, were left out of our final five selections, which was a difficult task.
So, let’s take a look at the five best left-backs in the Premier League this season, as well as the players who have been left on the bench.
5. Pervis Estupinan
This season, Brighton has been phenomenal in the Premier League. Following the hiring of Roberto De Zerbi, they have not lost any momentum despite the departure of Graham Potter.
Pervis Estupinan, the Seagulls’ starting left back, is one of the best players in the league this year.
The Ecuadorian international, a strong fullback who excels in both attack and defense, has recorded six assists in all competitions this season.
4. Lucas Digne
Since his arrival in the Premier League, Lucas Digne has been a controversial figure among commentators. Some view him as a liability, while others view him as a formidable offensive threat.

Who anticipated that Oleksandr Zinchenko would dethrone Kieran Tierney this season? In almost every way, the Ukrainian has proven to be the superior candidate for that position.
He more than makes up for his lack of Tierney’s defensive ability with his creativity, intelligent runs, and explosive athleticism.
The former Manchester City fullback has played a significant role in Arsenal’s pursuit of the league championship, as well as providing excellent cover in positions that are not his natural ones.
2. Andy Robertson

As a left-back, Robertson is capable of performing all duties. As a tenacious defender with exceptional speed, he is extremely difficult to consistently get around; likewise, his intelligent runs off the ball make him a dangerous offensive threat.
1. Luke Shaw
Luke Shaw is one of the best left-backs in the world when he is at the height of his abilities. Any club in the world would be fortunate to have him in their ranks, as he is a superb crosser with underrated defensive ability
This season, Shaw is at last reaching his full potential. He has never been below average previously, but the 2022/23 Premier League season is by far his best season to date.
