Ahead of the U20 African Cup of Nations in Egypt, the head coach of Senegal Malick Daf has declared that they will be ready to face Nigeria and others.
The competition is scheduled to start on February 19th and Senegal will confront host Egypt, Mozambique and the Flying Eagles of Nigeria in group B.
Daf said some of his players were with the Teranga Lions B team at the just concluded 2022 Championship of African Nations in Algeria.
And is expecting them to rejoin the team before the tournament commenced.
” I had 8 players who were present with the national team at CHAN and that’s normal.
But I couldn’t wait for them because we have to continue our preparation for the AFCON. I had to call on 8 players that I had in U17 to be able to work.
“We will necessarily recover 5 or even 6 players who were with the locals in Algeria to complete the squad. They will come to reinforce the group”, he said in a press conference.
