Nigerians may have to wait a little longer as Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro is likely to remain as the coach of the national team.
The reports suggest in the past few days that the Portuguese coach has applied to take over the vacant post of the Egyptian Premier League side Zamalek.
The monetary demand of Peseiro is delaying the move and the club is not ready to break the bank for him.
The former African champions are currently in a financial mess and they are having issues with the Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon, which is taking too much from the club.
The update coming from Egypt indicated that the change in Zamalek’s board of directors is another issue that militating against the appointment of Peseiro as the new board favours the appointment of the Chilean coach Jose Luis Sierra.
If Peseiro’s move to Zamalek collapses, it means he will remain as the coach of the Super Eagles to the 2023 African Cup of Nations unless the federation decides otherwise.
