Reasons have emerged why the matchday 4 of the CAF Confederation Cup between Rivers United and DC Motema Pembe could not hold as scheduled.
The match was fixed to hold on Wednesday at the Goodwill Akpabio stadium in Uyo but has to be moved to Thursday.
According to the report, the team was stuck in Luanda, Angola due to some logistics reasons.
“The match has been rescheduled for Thursday, as common ground was found between DCMP and River United, as we experienced a serious travel problem by missing the only flight from Angola to Nigeria.
“We recognize that the administrative procedures started late on our side to have all the tickets for this trip. Here in Angola, the only flight of the week that can bring people to Nigeria is scheduled every Tuesday, unfortunately, we missed it”, the club explained.
