Odunayo Adekuoroye has become Nigeria’s first Wrestler to qualify for next year’s Olympic Games, winning the bronze medal in Women’s Wrestling 57kg at the World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.
Adekuoroye won her 3rd place fight against Elvira Kamaloglu of Turkey at the ongoing Pre-Olympic qualifier, defeating her Turkish opponent 9-5 to secure a crucial spot for Paris 2024 Olympics.
This will be Adekuoroye’s third consecutive Olympic Games after she made her debut at the Rio 2016 event.
