Former Super Eagles assistant coach Godwin Koko Uwua has slammed the current assistant coaches of the national team.
While speaking on the Eagle 7 Sports radio, Uwua refused to blame Jose Peseiro for the dwindling performance of the Super Eagles instead he shifted the blame to the assistant coaches working with him.
He made it clear that they should inform him about looking back into the league to get some players into the national team.
” If we look inward among the league clubs certainly you will see one or two players and you give them a chance.
Exposure starts from the mind and they will grow confidence as time goes on.
It’s not that Peseiro is not a good coach but his assistants are not good.
If any coach is successful, check his assistants because if you don’t have anyone that will tell you the truth, there will be a problem, it mustn’t be you who will do everything.
By now his ( Peseiro) assistant should have informed him that they should look inward”, he said.
Uwua worked as an assistant coach to coach Adegboye Onigbinde at the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Japan and Korea.
