Nigerian-born, UFC star Israel Adesanya has decided to take time off from the sport but made it clear that is not quitting the game.
Adesanya suffered defeat in his last fight against Sean Strickland at UFC 293, a bout that surprised many followers of the sport.
Speaking to The Rock podcast, Adesanya hinted that he is going to take some time to take care of himself and that he will not fight again for a long period.
“I’m going to take some time to take care of myself and I’m not going to fight for a long
time.
“I’m not going to retire because I know myself and I wouldn’t like to leave like that”, he said.
Adesanya, number one in the middleweight ranking, makes this break with a balance of 24 victories (16 by KO) and three defeats, all of them in the last two and a half years.
