Kasimpasa defender Kenneth Omeruo has opened up on the reason the Super Eagles lost to Mali in Marrakech on Tuesday evening.
The 2023 African Cup of Nations first runners-up suffered a 2-0 defeat to the Eagles of Mali.
Omeruo hailed his teammate and said they gave their best but failed to take their chances affected their game.
“I think we played a better second half, it wasn’t a bad game, we just didn’t take our chances and they scored two goals. Overall, I think we played a good game,” Omeruo told NFF TV.
“I think it was a good outing for us, fantastic spirit. The players that were here gave their best. We just couldn’t score in the game.”
Super Eagles next assignment is the 2026 World Cup qualifier against South Africa and Benin Republic.
