The head coach of Akwa United has attributed their defeat against Bendel Insurance to the first-half mistakes of his players.
The ‘Promise Keeper’ on Sunday suffered a 0-2 defeat to the newly promoted Bendel Insurance at the Goodswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo.
During a post-match reactions, the coach said his players made mistakes in the first half and it cost them the game.
” Football is very dynamic, what you bargained for might not be what you will see but I think in the first half we suffered laxity and were naive in front of goals.
It is quite unfortunate that the two goals were a mistake and being the first game a lot of expectations on the team.
The game of football is, either way, today Insurance has got it right and believes the league is a marathon anything can happen.
We did a bit better in the second half but the god of soccer is not on our side.
We will go back and work on our mistakes”, he said.
