Day three of the Ogunjobi Gold Cup pre-season tournament continued across different centres respectively on Saturday. Meanwhile, the duo of Remo Stars and Shooting Stars won their games in a thrilling encounter.
Shooting Stars defeated Gombe United two nil while Remo Stars overcame a relentless Hammola boys 4-2.
First half brace from Samuel Ayankinde sealed the Oluyole Warriors second victory in the competition.
However, Remo Stars didn’t enjoy similar luxury like Shooting Stars as they had to fight back for their first victory in the tournament.
Hammola, who suffered defeat on Friday to Niger Tornadoes drew the first blood in the 11th minute from Olajugba Ayokunle’s freekick.
The lead could only last for 34 minutes when Remo Stars restored parity from their summer signing Godwin Odibo.
Before the halftime break, Hammola regained the lead from Olanrewaju Habeeb’s finish. Meanwhile two minute later, Stanley Okorom levelled for the Ikenne Stars from a freekick.
The second half had the better side of the Sky Blue Stars.
Remo Stars scored a 56th minute goal from Odufeso Mujeeb with the fourth from Samuel Anakwe in the 92nd minute.
