After playing a vital role in Everton FC securing their first win of the season, Nigeria’s Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has hailed manager Frank Lampard for his incredible form.
Since the start of the season, the Nigeria international has been one of the key players for the Toffees and his performance has received applause from fans and supporters of the club.
Neal Maupay netted the only goal of the game off an assist from Iwobi as they defeated West Ham United by a lone goal at Goodison Park.
“I didn’t get off to a great start [at Everton]. I always have the mindset to prove people wrong. The manager has given me faith to do so, and he allows me to express myself as I do in training, and I have been able to do that in matches to repay the faith.
“Ever since I came through as an [Arsenal] academy player I have always liked to move the ball forward on a half turn. Now I’m taking the full turn and trying to get up the pitch.
“I’m glad you remember! Anything I can do to create chances for my teammates, and I trust them to hit the back of the net and Neal was able to do that”, he told the club media.
