A header from Nathan Ake in the 58th minute was enough to settle the five-goal thriller between Manchester City and Liverpool at the Etihad stadium in the Round of 16 of the Carabao cup.
Erling Haaland gave the Citizens the lead in the 10th minute before Fabio Carvalho restored parity 10 minutes after which would mark the beginning of an eventful evening at the Etihad.

Manchester City was the better side for most of the game despite giving Liverpool chances. They controlled possession, had more shots on target and had a better-expected goal which measures the quality of chances created by a team.
It was the second time both Liverpool and Man City will be meeting this season with the first encounter going down at Anfield in the Premier League. Mohammed Salah’s effort was enough for the Reds to see off the Premier League defending champions and Pep Guardiola will be relieved to get the better of Jurgen Klopp this time around.
Manchester City now has the chance to reclaim the title they lost to Liverpool last season as they continue their surge to win it all.
